Janai Norman is a co-anchor of the weekend edition of “Good Morning
America.” She also anchors “ABC News Live Weekend” on a rotating
basis with her co-anchors since the streaming network expanded its
weekend programming.

Prior to her role as co-anchor, Norman was a correspondent for ABC
News based in New York, reporting for multiple ABC News programs and
platforms. As a correspondent, Norman covered a wide range of topics,
from politics to entertainment and sports. She covered major
historical moments, including the COVID-19 pandemic and protests
following the death of George Floyd. She also hosted the Pop News
segment for the weekend edition of “Good Morning America” and
helped launch the second hour of Saturday’s “GMA” in October
2019.

Additionally, Norman previously co-anchored “World News Now” and
“America This Morning,” reporting on major news stories, including
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan stepping back from the royal family,
the death of Jeffrey Epstein, and the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian.

Norman has covered the Trump administration, Capitol Hill, and
breaking news stories for local ABC affiliates as a multiplatform
reporter based in Washington, D.C.

Norman appeared in the Hulu special “Breaking the Mental Health
Stigma for Black Women” and spoke about her challenges and journey
with mental health.

As a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor, Norman has worked
at local television stations in Columbia, Missouri; Tulsa, Oklahoma;
and Orlando, Florida. In these roles, she covered the Pulse nightclub
shooting and the devastating tornado that tore through Moore,
Oklahoma.

In 2011, Norman began her career with ABC News in New York as an
intern with NewsOne. She is a graduate of the University of
Missouri-Columbia.

Norman lives in New Jersey with her husband and three children.
